The Senior Trial Attorney at the trial of Slobodan Milosevic for war crimes in 1999. Sir Geoffrey will explore some of the questions raised by the trial such as: What did the trial say generally about trying alleged war criminals?  is it worth putting all that effort into getting a few people locked away in prisons?

Sir Geoffrey Nice was educated at St Dunstan’s College, Catford and Keble College, Oxford; called to the Bar, Inner Temple 1971; Recorder since 1987; Bencher 1996; Patron, Prisoners of Conscience 2012-; Gresham Professor of Law 2012-2017 (where he lectured on prison issues); holder of academic posts at several universities.
