Both had long-standing and committed relationships with PET and had a significant impact on our work, especially our fundraising.
Cassie Edmiston, our Head of Fundraising and External Affairs, reflected:
“I joined PET in 2011 and really valued my time working with both Peter and Heather.
“Peter had been instrumental in raising the funds to recruit a full-time fundraiser and once I was in post he continued to support our work with his wisdom at board meetings and by auctioning his wonderful artwork.
“Heather was a trustee before my time at PET but was a very important figure to me as a patron and as a dedicated member of the South London Group which fundraised for PET. She always had so many ideas for the next event or appeal and was responsible for instigating our much loved annual carol concert.
“Both Peter and Heather were hugely dedicated to our work and their contributions were invaluable. Without them we would not have been able to support nearly 50,000 people in prison since our foundation. We are very grateful. Our thoughts are with their families and loved ones.”
