Sociology GCSE

The course consists of the following units:

  1. The sociological approach
  2. The sociology of families Part 1
  3. The sociology of families Part 2
  4. Sociological research methods
  5. The sociology of education Part 1
  6. The sociology of education Part 2
  7. Crime and deviance, Part 1
  8. Crime and deviance Part 2
  9. Social stratification, Part 1
  10. Social stratification Part 2

Entry Requirements: Level 2 English

Format of Course Materials: Paper-based

Assignments: Eleven written assignments. These do not count towards the final grade.

Exams: Two – each are 1 hour 45 minutes, and contribute 50% to the final grade. (Funding not included – you will need to re-apply to PET for the exam fees)

Prison Support Requirements: Support completion and submission of assignments. Organize and facilitate exams.
