Prisoners’ Education Trust (PET) is recruiting a new Chair to lead our Board of Trustees at a pivotal time in our development.

Last year we began a new five-year strategy, building on the progress that we have made in recent years to ensure that PET is fit for the future. This strategy will see us reach out to new learners and broaden the advice and support that we offer to the people that we work with, as well as working to influence the future of prison education policy.

At this crucial time for the organisation, we are looking for an outstanding new Chair who shares both our values and our ambitions. The ideal candidate will bring strategic vision, energy and fresh thinking to the Board. They will also be as committed as we are to equality, diversity and inclusion and to putting lived experience at the heart of our work.

If you care about prison education, if you want to help steer PET through the next phase of our development, and if you can offer us the dedication and commitment that we’re looking for, then we hope you will consider applying to join us.

We are committed to increasing the diversity of our Board and would particularly welcome applications from underrepresented groups and from candidates with lived experience of the criminal justice system.
