NEBOSH HSE Award in Managing Risks and Risk Assessment Level 2

The course consists of 3 elements:

Element 1: Why manage health and safety risks

  1. An introduction to health and safety and basic definitions
  2. An introduction to the steps in managing risk
  3. Health and safety competency

Element 2: Managing risk

  1. Steps needed to manage risk
  2. What ensures a risk assessment is suitable and sufficient
  3. Distinction between prevention and mitigation

Element 3: Sources of information and the application of HSE’s risk management tools

Entry Requirements: Level 2 English

Format of Course Materials: Paper-based

Assignments: A written risk assessment is completed at the end of the course. You will be asked to consider a realistic workplace scenario and complete a risk assessment to identify how you would manage and prioritise the risks present. This assessment needs to be submitted to ATM Safety for external examination.
